OUR MISSION

To inspire joy, happiness and whole-body wellness and expression through
collective movement.

A space shaped by resilience, rhythm, and honest beginnings

Founder Sam Mostaccio built Common Language with relentless heart and creativity. While navigating fertility struggles, profound loss, and eventual motherhood, she shaped a method rooted in rhythm and informed by years of experience teaching Zumba, spin, Pilates, and Lagree across NYC’s most influential fitness studios.

What began in 2017 as sketches of colors, sounds, and movement evolved through living-room and garage sessions, blending musicality, sculpt, and strength. That early experimentation culminated in her first small Common Language studio inside Chicago’s Flatiron building in 2023, followed by the full Wicker Park space that opened in 2024.

Common Language is rooted in Sam’s passion for creating an inclusive space that will change the way we engage with ourselves and the world through movement, music, and sweat.

Samantha Mostaccio is a global presenter, Nike-sponsored athlete, and creative force behind Common Language. A lifelong mover — from teaching fitness in college to shaping NYC's boutique fitness scene — her classes blend rebounding cardio, sculpt, rhythm-driven sequences, and the musicality that defined her early Zumba career. Inspired by her daughter Aven and her own search for a vibrant postpartum workout, Samantha built a method rooted in lymphatic movement, community, and pure release. Her classes aim to help you move to the rhythm of who you truly are.
